Our legal interpreters

Our team is made up of legal experts.

Our legal interpreters

Our team of legal interpreters is made up of experienced, qualified professionals, mainly specialised in the field of law.

All our translators are fully conversant with legal systems and, in particular, with the laws of the country for which they are translating. This is the guarantee of high-quality work.

Specialised

The necessary skills

A legal interpreter's job is much more than simply translating oral discourse: he or she must be proficient in a number of skills to achieve a satisfactory result.

Knowledge of legal systems and proficiency in the law

Excellent concentration and communication skills

Fluence in source and target languages

Solid general knowledge

Quality assessment

Layer 11

If the interpreter offers translation assignments, we contact him or her and add him or her to our database on a provisional basis, after which the interpreter completes a test:

  • in two areas of law
  • from one or two languages into their mother tongue
  • for the two types of service (translation, post-editing) in which they state they are proficient
Layer 12

These tests are proofread and evaluated by our team and our favorite, experienced and trusted translators.

Layer 13

If the interpreter does not offer a translation assignment and only works on interpreting projects, a test cannot be carried out without a real assignment:

  • Either we already know the interpreter from other assignments and can attest to the quality of his or her work,
  • Or we base our selection mainly on the reliability of the website on which we have recruited the interpreter (official European and international interpreter sites), on his or her references, languages and fields of expertise and then on our client feedback upon completion of the assignment.

Tools and technology

Depending on the type of interpreting required by the client, certain tools or equipment may be useful to interpreters:

For remote assignments: use of specialised interpreting platforms such as Interprefy, KUDO, Zoom...

For on-site missions: equipment rental may be required, such as cabins, headsets, gizmos...
